Parrtjima - A Festival in Light in Alice Springs had near record crowds in 2024, with over 21,000 people turning out for immersive light installations against the ancient backdrop of the MacDonnell Ranges and stories under the starry night sky. More than 80 First Nations artists contributed to the festival this year and 20 businesses took part in the Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network's Buy Black Market - a first for the event, offering art, jewellery, bush foods and beauty products from Aboriginal businesses and art centres. The festival also provided a platform to upskill Indigenous men in land management and events.
