Closing Plenary Announced for the Australian Event Symposium

We’re thrilled to announce our closing plenary session for the Australian Event Symposium next week on October 23 – a conversation between two of the people who have had – and will have – a huge impact on major events in Australia.

For the closing Australian Event Symposium plenary, Australian Olympic Committee CEO and director of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Organising Committee, Matt Carroll AM, will chat with Sandy Hollway AO, former CEO of the Sydney Organising Committee for the 2000 Olympic Games.

Arinex Founder Roslyn McLeod OAM to be Honoured at the Event Awards

Industry pioneer, Roslyn McLeod, founder of Arinex, one of Australia's largest PCOs, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Australian Event Awards next Wednesday.

Roslyn became the first Japanese-speaking Australian tour guide employed by the Australian Tourism Commission - now known as Tourism Australia - in 1970 and began offering interpretation and tour services and organising social programs for conferences in 1976. Her company, which eventually became Arinex, became a PCO in the 1990s and now organises major local and international conferences.

Roslyn has held leadership and advisory roles across the business events industry and has received multiple accolades for her contributions to the industry. She was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia, for her contributions to tourism and meetings in 1999.
