Deep Diving into the Olympic Closing Plenary
The big questions are on the agenda for our closing plenary, where two hugely influential Olympic organising figures will take the stage.
Australian Olympic Committee CEO and director of the organising committee for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Matt Carroll AM, and Sandy Hollway AO, former CEO of the Sydney Organising Committee for the 2000 Olympic Games will discuss:
- What lessons can we learn from the 2024 Paris Olympics for Brisbane 2032?
- How is Brisbane 2032 trying to differentiate itself from past Olympics?
- What are the opportunities of Brisbane 2032 for the events industry?
With Australian Event Awards judging co-chair, Brenda LaPorte set to moderate the session, the plenary will be an unrivalled opportunity for insight into what's ahead on the road to Brisbane's Olympics and how the events industry might benefit.

Here's who helps us make the Event Awards happen
We couldn't produce the spectacle of the Australian Event Awards ceremony without the help of our partners. These are the companies that contribute their significant expertise to the events industry's biggest night of the year.
- Navarra Venues is our major partner for 2024 and we're delighted to be holding the ceremony in their waterfront Sarah Grand Ballroom.
- Chameleon Touring Systems will be literally shining the spotlight on the winners on Wednesday evening as our lighting partner.
- As our sound experts, Coda Audio will ensure everyone in the room can hear the winner speeches with crystal clear audio (although they'll also be playing you off, if you go on too long when you win).
- As our vision partner, TDC are providing cool curved LED screens for the ceremony, giving everyone a good look at all the night's big winners.
- Tri-Point Rigging Services will supply the rigging and drapes for the night.
- The P.A. People will provide radios to keep everything running smoothly - critical for the number of cues which need to be heard by the team throughout the night.
- And, as our event photography partner, EventPix will be using a new product, Spot My Photos, to deliver the winning moments they capture instantly to attendees.
Finally, we're grateful to our three media partners,
Australasian Special Events, micenet and
CIM business events, who have kept the industry informed of Event Awards developments throughout the year and who help us share and celebrate the nominees and winners far and wide across the industry.
Thanks to all. We couldn't do it without you. And we wouldn't want to.
