With 15 brand new categories, the reintroduction of 6 categories and the Event Symposium, there’s something for everyone in the events industry to get involved and be recognised for their creativity, contribution, innovation and excellence.
While we’re at it, we have reorganised the award categories into 4 groups. 11 new Industry Awards, 4 Management Awards, 14 Best Event Awards and 4 Achievement Awards.
To top it all off, we’ve added 5 Headline awards conferred directly by the judging panel and revisited the entry form questions in all categories to make it easier and less time consuming to enter.

After extensive consultation with the industry, we've taken on board your feedback and broadened the Event Awards categories for 2023.
With many specialised services required to make events what they are, the 2023 Awards have introduced the set of Industry Awards which recognises suppliers, their work and contribution to events between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023.
The Industry Award categories offer recognition to venues, caterers, freelancers and companies specialising in theming, security, production, AV content, hire equipment, professional advice, event support services and event products.
Every Winner from the Industry Award categories is put forward to be considered to receive the Headline Award, Event Supplier of the Year - someone will be walking away with two titles and trophies!
Behind the scenes, there's a team of people pulling events together - the Management Award Categories offer recognition to companies specialising in Conferences, Public Events and Corporate Events, as well as the companies with less than 5 employees being offered Small Event Management Company of the Year category.
Every Winner from the Management Award categories is put forward to be considered to receive the Headline Award, Event Management Company of the Year.
In the Best Event group we have reintroduced some of the pre-Covid categories, as well as the introduction of new categories, including Best Congress or Conference over/under 500 delegates and Best Small Regional Event.
Making a comeback, Best Sporting Event, Best Tourism Event, Best Exhibition or Trade Show and Best New Event re-join the line-up of Best Event categories.
Every Winner from the Best Event Award categories is put forward to be considered to receive the Headline Award, Australian Event of the Year - the concluding Award of the evening. This prestigious title can only be awarded to one event...will it be yours?
Of Course, the Achievement Awards remain, highlighting the contribution of Design, Marketing and Technical to events and recognising Aussies working on the world stage through the Export category.
Over two days before the Awards Ceremony, the Event Symposium will bring together the industry, with a focus on the latest trends, new innovations, opportunities and and changes happening within the business.
Registrations will include access to the conference sessions where you'll be kept up to date with all you need to know, networking functions to expand your contact base, and the Awards Ceremony so you can celebrate with the entire industry... Perhaps you'll be walking away with not only a fountain of new knowledge but a trophy too?
If you're interested in sharing new trends and innovations at the Event Symposium, get in touch!
That's a great question - the answer is we're not sure - yet.
We've recently launched a national Search for a Home providing an opportunity for regions, destinations, new and established venues, attractions and accommodation providers to showcase what they have to offer to the key decision makers in the $17bn Aussie events business and thereby snare new events for their region.
All destinations, venues, accommodation providers and attractions are encouraged to get together and put in a bid - it is an opportunity to demonstrate what they have to offer directly to the industry and showcase their local services, cuisine and event spaces.
This is also an invaluable opportunity for the local events community to connect with producers and suppliers from across the country, network and increase their contact database and vice versa.
