Founder and Director of Perth’s marketing specialist agency, Pryzm, is working with Perth Glory FC on engagement and enhancement of the fan experience at the next Perth Glory match day.
Following their recent introduction of a 60-person guard of honour, made up of their longest serving and most devoted members, to welcome the team on the pitch after they won the Premiership in round 27, a spin on the inspiration he gained at the 2014 Super Bowl when the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bruno Mars ran out between the mosh pit to get to the stage, sparking excitement you could almost reach and touch, key contributors were recognised and it gave the players unexpected praise and made for some great photos.
With an event which takes place on a pitch and presenting a multitude of visual engagement opportunities, it also has its challenges – how do you entertain the fans that don’t walk around the ground and see the whole event? How can you leverage tools such as augmented reality, social media aggregation and story-telling to make this enhance the match day?
Harley and his events team are working on how to best engage fans in a new and innovative way and how to revolutionise the big screen on match day and maximising the engagement in the one hour that the grounds are open prior to the match. The engagement doesn’t start at the event however, it all begins at the moment the fan engages with the sport and the club and these are experiences that are challenging, to engage the audience without discouraging people to attend the event in person.
You can catch Harley at the Australian Event Symposium on 16-18 September 2019 at Optus Stadium, Perth. Harley will be discussing how audiences are moving towards engagement with visual marketing rather than only traditional blog posts or social content and how visual marketing takes engagement to an experiential level by enabling you to tell your event or brand’s story in a way that excites your audience on a deeper level, in his session ‘The Future of Visual Marketing’ and will cover:
