In order to highlight and celebrate the achievements of the industry despite the effects of Covid-19, we have begun a new initiative entitled ‘Australian Event Industry Month’.
The objective of this month is to gather an array of initiatives staged by the events industry, to make October a month-long celebration of the achievements and resilience of the Australian Events Community. Any participation, be it an event, or social media post that honours the industry’s triumphs is welcome to be part of #AussieEventsMonth.
The Australian Event Awards will participate in Australian Event Industry Month by showcasing what each 2021 Awards entrant has accomplished since 1 July 2020.
Short highlights of each entrant’s work will be published on our social media channels every day during October and will include an image or video and a short overview including recognition of the individuals that were integral to the event/achievement.
The Australian Event Awards Ceremony held at the end of October (*Date and location TBC) will be the culminating event of Australian Event Industry Month, celebrating the best events, achievements and works between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2021.
The Event Awards invites the industry to participate in #AussieEventsMonth by staging initiatives during October 2021 aimed at recognising the achievements and resilience of the Events community. No concept is too small or too big.
Examples may include:
The Event Awards will facilitate any participation in Australian Event Industry Month by reposting social media content, highlighting the opportunities and recognition and (if necessary) creating a program on the Event Awards website dedicated to outlining what is taking place in October – but you do not need our permission to put your concept in motion – if you have an idea, do it!
“We want this to be an industry focussed and industry run initiative. It is an opportunity for comradeship, celebration and acknowledgement of our resilience and we hope everyone is excited to be part of that.” Ian Steigrad, Managing Director of the Awards.
If your initiative takes place in October 2021 and highlights the Australian Events Industry, put it forward to be part of #AussieEventsMonth.
Of course, if you would like our support and promotion of your concept, please let us know what you are doing by contacting us.
“Australian Event Industry Month is a fantastic initiative, not just for the Event Awards but for the Australian Events community as a whole. I strongly urge everyone in the industry to find ways to participate in this concept and make October a month for the Industry to reflect and celebrate as one.” Brenda LaPorte, Co-Chair of the Judging Panel.
