Categories now available to all event professionals who work in Australia

The Australian Event Awards aims to recognise the achievements of all event professionals in Australia. Entry eligibility requirements have been simplified to create a level playing field for Australian events by focussing on work performed in Australia, meaning more companies and individuals can be recognised for their work.

Stengthen your entry by referencing stakeholder feedback or statistics

Evidencing of the entrant’s claims have been incorporated into the judging evaluation criteria and represent 10% of the total criteria in all categories. This means you can enhance your score by supporting your claims with evidence, such as reasons for the claim, statistics, independent commentary or stakeholder feedback.

Key Changes for 2014

Entertainment category gets an overhaul

Industry feedback has told us that changes were required to the Entertainment category. In response, the Industry Judging Panel has introduced “Best Achievement in Entertainment” which replaces “Entertainer of the Year”. We have abolished the audience vote and requirement to perform at the Night of Nights and entries for this award will be judged in the same way as other categories. The entry process has been simplified too, just:

  1. Tell us about your act or performance
  2. Provide a video and photograph
  3. Describe your achievements between July 2013 and June 2014

90+ awards up for grabs

With over 90 awards up for grabs in 2014, you have a greater chance of being recognised for your achievement.

While there can only be one national winner for each category, the Australian Event Awards acknowledged in 2013 that there is great work achieved in every state and territory.

This year, the Australian Event Awards will continue this practice. For each ‘Best Event’ category, the top entry in each state will be recognised as the state winner and receive a certificate to recognise their achievement. To be in the running, all you need to do is submit your event before entries close.
