Want to know how it all works?

The Event Awards prides itself on being fair and transparent as it seeks to recognise and celebrate the best Australian events and achievements by Australians around the world. Entry into the Awards and the way winners are selected are carefully planned and executed processes.

The criteria against which the Judges assess each entry, can be found in each category on the Categories page and they're also listed on the top of each entry form in the Entry Portal. The weighting of the criteria tells you what percentage of your score each criterion is worth.

There are rules in place for granting extensions to entrants, confidentiality of entries, dealing with judges' conflicts of interest and more. You can see all the Governance and General Rules here.

By the time the winners are announced at the Event Awards Ceremony on 13 September on the Sunshine Coast, each National Finalist entry will have been closely scrutinised by at least four different judges and discussed by up to a further 10 on the Winner Selection Panel. The whole Judging Process for the two rounds of judging can be found here.

And if you're curious about which industry experts are on the Judging Panel, you can read all of our current judges' biographies here.
