Be at the Event Awards to celebrate Lifetime Achievement Award winners Ron Walker and Meri Took

We're delighted to announce two Lifetime Achievement Award recipients for the Australian Event Awards 2015.

Ron Walker AC CBE, former Lord Mayor of the Melbourne, will be recognised for his decades long impact on the events industry, including as head of the Melbourne Major Events company, Chairman of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and Chairman of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation where he was instrumental in the relocation of the event from Adelaide to Melbourne, a move which has delivered significant benefits to Melbourne over the past 19 years.

Meri Took, Founder and Director of leading industry supplier Staging Rentals and Construction, will also be recognised for his considerable contribution to the industry throughout his career. Meri started Sydney's first crewing service and subsequently toured the world with all manner of rockstars, before founding Staging Rentals and Construction, identifying a gap in the market for hiring events and theatre equipment such as draperies and stage rises.

Ron and Meri will be presented with their Awards at the Australian Event Awards on 17 November at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont Sydney.
