It's time to talk Symposium: Big names, great rates and new streams

With entries now closed for the Event Awards, it's time to turn your attention to the Australian Event Symposium which coincides with the Event Awards Night on 17 and 18 November.

Destination marketing and project design and planning streams added

Following some fascinating proposals, Day 2 of the Symposium has been reshaped to include destination marketing, case study and project design and planning streams through which sporting event tourism, business event tourism, cultural event tourism and event tourism in regional Australia will be explored.

Session spotlight: Regional reputations

Dr Neryl East, a reputation expert with 30 years' experience in communications, will explore the reputation challenges and opportunities facing regional destinations trying to attract event-based tourism. In the digital age where the everyman's review can be worth more than the professional critic's, Neryl will demonstrate the power communities have to market themselves and their events to draw the crowds to their towns.
